Tame the Frizz
Tame the Frizz for Smooth Hair
Frizz is mostly caused by a lack of moisture in your hair, but humidity brought on by the change of seasons can also contribute to it.
Miessence Desert Flower shampoo is extremely mild yucca juice and coco polyglucose gently cleanse the hair. Panthenol moisturises the hair.
Miessence Lemon Myrtle is a shampoo for oilier hair types or for when you have been using a few too many styling agents.
You may experience a hair detox for the first few weeks if you have been using hair care with silicone derivatives. Commercial hair care products often leave your hair coated with plastic from the silicone derivatives (dimethicone, cylcomethicone, any chemical with ‘cone’ in it) they contain. Miessence shampoos will not foam and the hair care will not work effectively until you have removed this coating by detoxing your hair.
2. Don't skip hair conditioner.
It's all about depositing moisture in your hair, or else the cuticle will open up to let moisture in and turn your hair from smooth to frizzy. Use the Miessence Shine Herbal Hair Conditioner as this will hydrate, condition and protect the hair with nourishing and emollient moringa seed oil from Tanzania. Pro-vitamin B5 (panthenol) and organic herbs promote lustre and body. It also naturally balances the pH with organic apple cider vinegar. Apply it from midshaft down to your ends, keeping it away from your roots if you're worried about it weighing down your hair.
3. Use the Miessence Clarifying Hair Rinse.
Miessence Clarifying Hair Rinse closes the hair shaft and helps to detangle the hair. It acidifies the scalp and removes excess oils, leaving the hair clean and glossy. Formulated with organic apple cider vinegar, beneficial hair and scalp organic herbs, and the invigorating aroma of organic lemon peel oil. The acidity of apple cider vinegar does wonders to smooth frizzy hair, and as an added plus gives it a great healthy shine.
4. Use a oil mask once a week.
Doing a special hair treatment at least once a week, especially in colder months when the air is dry, will help fill any holes in your hair shaft that soak up outside moisture and contribute to frizz.
Coconut and Olive oil are great choices as both are incredibly hydrating. Just wash you hair as mentioned above then towel dry your hair and run either of the oils through your hair. You can even mix them together and add some avocado oil if you wish as this has the good kind of fatty acids to help smooth hair frizziness. You can leave on for 15-20 minutes then rinse or for a deeper treatment you can leave on overnight.
5. Let your hair dry 90 percent of the way before you blow-dry.
Too much hot air focused directly on your strands dehydrates it, making it frizzy — especially during the winter months when the air is less humid. If you have straight to slightly wavy hair, let your hair air dry 90 percent of the way and then use a dryer on it for the last 10 percent.
6. Brush your hair regularly to help distribute its natural oils.
7. Tame frizzy, thick, coarse, and curly hair with Miessence Hair Repair Protect spray and a diffuser.
After you've shampooed and conditioned your hair, while it's still wet, apply the Miessence Hair Repair Protect spray in. This product uses a naturally fermented grain extract which provides long lasting moisturisation, imparts lustre and conditions the hair. Organic rosehip seed oil moisturises and softens dry, brittle ends. Dry your hair once it is 90% dry, you can also use a diffuser on low speed, medium heat to dry it.
To smooth the hair, use any of the Miessence moisturisers or serums you have on hand and rub the product together in between your palms and apply from the midlengths down.
