LOGONA was one of the first companies to offer 100% natural herbal hair colours, and continues to lead the sector today. Protecting the environment – and your hair LOGONA Herbal Hair Colours differ significantly from chemical dyes. Put simply, chemical hair dyes remove the hair’s natural pigment and replace it with a synthetic one. As a result, the original hair colour can be changed completely. Nevertheless, the natural colour pigment also has a stabilising effect, which is why hair that is regularly coloured with chemical dyes quickly becomes brittle and dull. LOGONA Herbal Hair Colours provide extra-gentle colouring since they only penetrate the outer cuticle of the hair and form a protective film around each hair strand. As a result, the hair structure not only remains intact, but the hair is also fortified and is given more volume and shine. The natural colour pigments of your hair shine through the herbal colour. The final shade is created through a harmonious fusion between your original colour and the herbal tone. 100% natural. 100% individual.
Herbal hair colours and perms
It is generally recommended that hair is coloured after perming in order to allow the herbal colour to develop its maximum effect whilst simultaneously nourishing the damaged hair structure.
Herbal hair colours and chemical dyes
If herbal hair colours are combined with chemical dyes, discolouration can happen. As a result, a strand test should always be carried out first. Herbal hair colour and grey hair In general, LOGONA Herbal Hair Colours are suitable for colouring grey hair. Of course, entirely natural hair colours will not magic them away completely. In light of their particular composition, grey hairs are also lighter than others after applying a herbal colour. Nevertheless, this achieves extremely natural tone variations throughout the hair.
Herbal hair dyes and lightening
It is not possible to lighten hair using LOGONA Herbal Hair Colours, since bleaching can only be achieved with harmful lightening chemicals like hydrogen peroxide.
LOGONA natural hair colours
The LOGONA natural herbal hair colours are available as LOGONA Herbal Hair Colour Powders or as innovative, ready-to-use LOGONA Color Cremes. All LOGONA herbal hair colours are free from synthetic colouring, fragrances and preservatives, as well as peroxides, ammoniac and any other chemical substance.
Logona Herbal Hair Colour Powder Hero Ingredients:
Henna Grown in North and east Africa, in addition to large parts of Asia. It needs abundant light and warmth in order to thrive. In the Orient, the mesmerising scent of henna has been cherished for centuries. In light of its pleasant fragrance, the bush is an extremely popular garden plant. The leaves of the bush are used to make henna powder, which was already used for body painting in antiquity and has long been known as a natural hair-colouring agent. Indigo is a colour that gleams between deep blue and violet, and was already produced using the leaves of the indigo plant in antiquity. Hailing from East Asia and India, the plant was brought to Europe via Egypt, and soon displaced the majority of previously used colouring agents. The senna and indigo leaves lend the hair subtle colour, but above all rich nourishment and shine.
Wheat For manageable, protected hair. When wheat or any other cereal is processed, sieving the flour yields wheat bran – a collective term for the residue from the hulls, germ buds and aleurone layer. Nevertheless, the bran is much more than a ‘waste product’, and is replete with fibre, minerals and vitamins. Wheat bran extract improves the combability of damp hair and prevents static electricity. Wheat protein is a natural component of wheat flour that remains after the extraction of starch. As an active ingredient in haircare products, wheat protein forms a protective layer around the hair strands, thus providing a barrier against harmful environmental and weather influences. It also makes hair more manageable. Wheat protein improves moisture retention and wound healing, and leaves skin beautifully firm.
Jojoba Excellent care for the skin. Given that the six-metre-long roots enable an optimal supply of nutrients, this evergreen shrub is capable of withstanding the climatic extremes of the American and Mexican desert. Produced from the seeds of the plant, jojoba oil is rich in provitamin A, vitamin E and a range of minerals. Its unique fatty acid composition makes it an excellent ingredient for skincare products. Jojoba oil has a smoothing and moisturising effect.
Walnut Natural colour. More than two million years ago, the deciduous tree with the delicious fruit was already widely spread over the world, and even the climatic challenges of the ice age were no match for the sturdy walnut tree. Thanks to its elegant wood and the diverse uses for its nuts, this tree is incredibly popular. The shell of the nut is used to obtain an extract that is an ideal natural colourant for brown hair.
Beetroot A powerful colouring agent. From its Mediterranean homeland, this cultivated form of the common turnip has gradually spread around the world. Its red colour is due to its high betaine content. Given that it is rich in vitamins, iron, potassium and folic acid, beetroot is an extremely popular vegetable all over the globe. The dried and ground roots of the beetroot has an antioxidative effect and give hair a beautifully natural colour.

1. Preparation before colouring LOGONA Colour Plus cleanses deeply and prepares your hair optimally for colouring with any LOGONA Herbal Hair Colour. Its unique combination of green mineral clay and birch leaf extract gently removes all traces of styling products and other foreign residue, which vastly improves the bonding between your hair and the colour mixture.
2. Colouration LOGONA Herbal Hair Colours are applied strand by strand using a paintbrush. First apply the colour to the roots and then spread it along the length of each strand. Leave the Logona Herbal Hair Colours for between 15 minutes and two hours, depending on the desired colour intensity. Then rinse with plenty of warm water.
3. After colouring Instead of a shampoo, Logona recommend LOGONA Colour Conditioner, a specialised cleanser which seals the colour into your hair, increasing the intensity and brilliance of the colour result. Rich in nourishing burdock seed oil, betaine, and wheat protein, LOGONA Colour Conditioner smooths your hair structure while sealing the colour to ensure a long lasting colour result. You can also use it between colourings to maintain the original brilliance and intensity of your colour result.
Important: Before colouring your hair, you can perform a strand test to see how this particular colour reacts with your hair and determine how long your application time should be. Next, place the Logona Herbal Hair Colour in a heatproof bowl and stir it with 300 ml of boiling water until it becomes a creamy consistency. Be sure to wear the gloves which are provided to keep your hairs from getting stained. Divide your hair into sections and apply the colour thoroughly from roots to tips. Once you have applied the colour, wear the warming cap which is provided and wrap your head in a towel, as this will encourage your body heat to warm the dye and make it penetrate deeper. Leave the mixture on your hair for the time indicated by your strand test. Rinse the Logona Herbal Hair Colour out of your hair thoroughly and then condition your hair with Logona Colour Conditioner. Dry and style as usual.
Lawsonia Inermis (Henna) Leaf Powder*, Beta Vulgaris (Beet) Root Powder, Juglans Regia (Walnut) Shell Powder, Indigofera Tinctoria (Indigo) Leaf Powder, Indigofera Argentea (Indigo) Leaf Powder, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Algin, Parfum (Essential Oils) * from controlled organic cultivation.

Logona Colours in Harmony with Nature
Healthy, glossy hair coloured to a fresh and lively shade enhances your personal allure like nothing else. With LOGONA Herbal Hair Colours, you can add depth or a subtle nuance to your existing colour, add colour highlights, or change your hair colour altogether - without attacking the natural structure or native colour of your hair!
Herbal Hair Colours really do work differently
Chemical hair colours aggressively remove natural pigments from the interior of the hair shaft, and replace them with synthetic dyes. In this way, your initial hair colour can be completely changed. However, since natural hair pigments have a stabilising effect on overall hair structure, repeated chemical colour treatments can make hair fragile and lifeless.
LOGONA Herbal Hair Colours penetrate only the outer, scaly layer of the hair shaft, giving a coating of colour over this outer layer. The natural pigments of your hair shine through this colour layer. Your new hair colour results from the combination of your initial colour with the applied hair colour layer.
Brilliant colour, shine and volume
LOGONA Herbal Hair Colours strengthen your hair and give it naturally enhanced volume. The improved glossiness and shine results from the smoothing effect the hair colour layer has on the outer layer of the hair shaft, which increases the light reflected off the hair.
100% Natural Ingredients
LOGONA Herbal Hair Colours contain only 100% natural, finely ground botanical colorants, such as henna, walnut shells, and beetroot. Additionally, wheat protein and jojoba provide deep conditioning benefits during the colouration process. Colouring visibly improves hair structure and volume, and makes the hair more manageable.
Every colour is unique
LOGONA Hair Colour combines with your individual hair colour and structure to produce a colour result not completely predictable or standardisable. Finely structured hair and lighter shaded hair, for example, tend to bind LOGONA Hair Colours much quicker and more intensively than coarser or darker hair. Logona strongly recommend that you take the time to do careful strand testing.
Logona Hair Colours are as individual as you are
LOGONA Herbal Hair Colours are ”semi-permanent” colours that typically provide long-lasting colour. They are not temporary colours that wash out in a few days. How long a LOGONA Hair Colour will last depends on hair structure, general care and treatment practices, and lifestyle practices.

Touch Up Coloring of New Growth and Roots
LOGONA Hair Colours are long lasting. For most people, after 4-8 weeks a clearly visible difference exists between the coloured hair and the colour of the new growth. The “roots” problem. This unsightly contrast, however, is generally much more subtle than for chemically coloured hair. Now, thanks to the creamy texture and ease of application of the Colour Creams, you can colour your new growth much more easily. The products’ film-forming characteristics also produce a much more blended look between your newly-coloured roots and your previously colour hair.
Natural ingredients
Each LOGONA Colour Cream carries the BDIH seal of approval as a “certified natural” product. Free from synthetic colourants, fragrances, and preservatives, the Logona Colour Creams contain none of the aggressive ingredients, such as ammonia and peroxide, normally contained in hair coloring products.

Questions and Answers about LOGONA Herbal Hair Colours
Selecting a good hair colour option for you
A LOGONA Herbal Hair Colour combines with your individual hair colour and hair structure to produce an individual colour result that is not completely predictable. Fine or very light hair typically binds the hair colour quicker and more intensively than thicker or darker hair. Consult with your hair stylist if you have questions about categorising your hair structure and colour. [please also see colour chart on the product description page].
Strand testing
For any LOGONA Hair Colour you are using for the first time, Logona STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you perform a strand test prior to colouring all your hair. Simply stir together a teaspoon of the colour with an ounce of boiling water or tea. The colour chart shows various colour results for all LOGONA Hair Colours, and should serve as a point of departure in making your colour selection.
Amount of product you will need
To colour shoulder-length hair, you will need one package of hair colour powder or one tube of hair colour cream. Longer hair requires more product.
LOGONA hair colours and gray hair
In general, LOGONA Herbal Hair Colours are very suitable for colouring gray hair. However, natural colours will never make gray disappear the way chemical dyes do. Due to its unique characteristics, gray hair will always produce a lighter result than non gray hair when coloured with a single application of a LOGONA Hair Colour. The more gray you have, the lighter the overall colour result will be. The different colour gradations in your hair, including the gray, can produce fascinating multicolored results. Because herbal hair colours coat each hair strand as a coloured glaze, the colour result will always be lighter, the more gray hair you have. Sometimes it is unavoidable to colour a second time, in order to get the desired colour result and cover.
Helpful tips to colour gray hair
You should definitely perform a strand test prior to colouring all your hair.
To get a darker or more intensive colour result, it is sometimes necessary to colour your hair twice. However, you should wait at least 12 hours before colouring a second time.
One approach to achieve a dark colour result begins with a colouration of Logona Chestnut Brown, followed by a second layer of Logona Brown Umber.
You can also mix Logona Brown Umber powder with Logona Henna Black. However, the black component should not exceed 30% of the overall mixture. To be on the safe side, Logona recommend that you start with 10% black (about one tablespoon) and increase the black proportion gradually as needed in subsequent colorings. Bear in mind that Logona Henna Black should only be mixed into another colour base, and never be used alone on gray hair. The processing time of two hours per colouration, also for multiple colourings, should be followed.
For blonde hair mixed with gray, Logona recommend Logona Golden Blonde for a colour result with little red, and Logona Sahara for a redder colour result. You can leave Logona Golden Blonde in your hair to process for 1-2 hours, as with the other Logona Hair Color powders, but Logona Sahara should not be left in the hair more than 30 minutes.
Lightening your hair colour with a LOGONA Herbal Hair Colour, either powder or cream, is not possible.
Logona Herbal Hair Colours and Perms Logona recommend that you perm first, and colour second. In this way, you will achieve a full colouration, and improve the structure of hair damaged by the perm.
LOGONA hair colours and chemically coloured hair In principle, LOGONA Hair Colours can be used on hair already coloured by chemical methods. However, combining chemical and natural colouring methods can produce undesirable colour results. To avoid this, Logona STRONGLY recommend that you perform a strand test prior to colouration. Logona also recommend that you treat your hair with LOGONA Colour Plus before colouring.
Mixing LOGONA Herbal Hair Colour Powders Many users achieve unique and beautiful colour results by mixing two or three Logona Hair Colour powders together. Especially in the red and brown colour ranges all imaginable nuances are possible. Adding Logona Henna Black to a base of Logona Walnut Red Brown, Logona Chestnut Brown, or Logona Mahogany, for example, will produce a darker, more intensive colour result. Mixtures of Logona Golden Blonde and Logona Sahara produce many variations in the golden to reddish range.
Hair preparation prior to coloring To prepare your hair optimally for a coloration with a LOGONA Hair Colour, Logona recommend an intensive cleansing with LOGONA Colour Plus. The green clay and birch leaf extract contained in this product help thoroughly gently remove all residues of hair treatment and styling products, dandruff particles, and excess oil, which improves the bonding between your hair and the colouring particles. If you do not use LOGONA Colour Plus, then, at the minimum, you should wash your hair thoroughly, without conditioning, prior to colouring. LOGONA Hair Colour Powders can be mixed with boiling water, or with tea or coffee for a darker colour result, to a creamy and slightly gel-like consistency. LOGONA Hair Colour Creams are ready-to-use straight from the tube, and need no mixing. To avoid skin discoloration at the hairline, Logona suggest that you apply a thin layer of a rich cream, along your hairline and place cotton coiling on top of the cream to create a barrier. Any skin discolouration that does occur will disappear on its own within a short time. You can remove the discolouration with a mixture of lemon juice and vegetable oil.
Colouring your roots LOGONA Hair Colours are long lasting. For most people, after 4-8 weeks a clearly visible difference exists between the coloured hair and the colour of the new growth - the so-called “roots“ problem. This unsightly contrast, however, is generally much more subtle than for chemically coloured hair. Now, thanks to the creamy texture and ease of application of the LOGONA Colour Creams, you can colour your new growth much more easily. The products‘ film-forming characteristics also produce a much more blended look between your newly-coloured roots and your previously coloured hair. You can certainly also colour your roots using LOGONA Hair Colour Powders. First, colour only the roots with a part of the hair colour mixture. When the processing time you normally use is half over, apply the remaining colour mixture throughout the rest of your hair, in order to freshen your overall hair colour.
Processing Times Herbal hair colours remain in your hair between 15 minutes and 2 hours. In general, thicker and/or darker hair requires longer processing times than finer and/or lighter-coloured hair. From strand testing, you should come to understand a suitable processing time range.
Shimmering Colour Highlights with LOGONA Herbal Hair Colours As an alternative to changing your hair colour altogether, you can also use LOGONA Hair Colours to colour specific sections of your hair to add colour accents or highlights. For example:
• in light blonde hair you can add red highlights to produce radiant, coral accents
• in medium to dark blonde hair red highlights produce ruby red accents
• in light brown hair red highlights produce darker mahogany accents
• in hair coloured with LOGONA Mahogany or Logona Walnut Red Brown colour, you can add interesting colour contrast and black-brown colour highlights by colouring sections with Logona Henna Black.
To colour a specific part of your hair to produce this kind of effect, separate the section(s) from the rest of your hair, distribute the hair colour evenly throughout, and wrap carefully in aluminum foil. Use the same processing time as for a complete colouration. At the end of processing, wash out carefully - using the LOGONA Colour Conditioner, for best results to seal the colour.
Reinforcing the colour intensity To intensify the brilliance of your colour result and seal the colour, Logona recommend that you wash the hair colour mixture from your hair with LOGONA Colour Conditioner instead of your regular shampoo. Rich in nourishing burdock seed oil, betaine, and wheat protein, it smooths your hair structure while sealing the colour to ensure a long lasting colour result. If you are colouring your hair twice within a short period, you can also use the Logona Colour Conditioner in between colourings as an intensive treatment.
Other ways to care for naturally coloured hair To improve overall manageability, you can use a conditioner or hair treatment. For problem conditions such as oily hair, irritated scalp and dandruff, Logona recommend the occasional use of LOGONA Henna Neutral Hair Treatment. It provides the hair with volume and silky gloss. The finely ground plant materials care for the scalp and strengthen the hair structure. The Henna Neutral Hair Treatment is not suitable for the care of very gray or very light blonde hair.
Duration of a LOGONA hair colour Just how long a LOGONA Hair Colour will continue to look good depends largely on the physical characteristics of your hair, and the methods and products you use to care for it. Unlike rinses or temporary colours that wash out in a few days, LOGONA Hair Colours are long-lasting, semi-permanent colours. For most users, the colour layer gradually thins and the colour loses its intensity over a 6-8 week period.
Reinforcing the colour intensity with repeated colourations You can deepen and intensify your colour result with repeated colourings performed within a short period of time. This serves to thicken the colour layer on your hair. However, you should wait at least 12 hours between colourings in order to allow the stabilising effect of oxygen to run its course.
How long is the product usable LOGONA Herbal Hair Colour Powder will remain usable for 6 months in its powdered, unmixed state. Any leftover from the mixture itself should be discarded. Regarding the LOGONA Colour Creams, an open tube will remain stable for 3 months after first opening it.
When the hair colour doesn‘t “take” There are several reasons why a hair colouring produces little or no result. For healthy hair with a very intact, smooth surface, it might be that the colour pigments find little area to bind to the hair surface. In this case, you should first use Logona Colour Plus prior to colouring. Another reason for an unsatisfactory colouration stems from film binding, styling products, such as hair gels and sprays, or products containing a silicone derivative. These form a smooth layer over the hair, and make it almost impossible for the colour pigments to bind. You can recognise a silicone derivative, such as Cyclomethicone or Dimethicone, in the ingredients listing by the ending “cone” in the name of the ingredient. If this is the case, Logona suggest that you switch your hair care and styling products to options without silicone, and prior to the colouration, to prepare your hair with Logona Colour Plus. All LOGONA hair care products are completely silicone-free. This is one of the criteria for the BDIH seal as a certified natural product, which all LOGONA products carry.
Correcting an undesired colour result The best way to prevent an undesirable colour result is a strand test. If you have such a result, you can repeat the colouration with the same shade or with a darker shade. You cannot lighten your hair, however, with purely natural colourants.
Hair colouring during pregnancy You can use any LOGONA Hair Colour product without worry during pregnancy and nursing. The products are completely free of chemical ingredients and are very gentle to skin and hair. There have never been any reported health risks or negative side effects.
Logona Herbal Hair Colours - Important facts to keep in mind
• You cannot lighten your hair with any LOGONA Herbal Hair Colours.
• Do not use LOGONA Hair Colours on areas that are injured or that have any open sores or skin irritations.
• Take care during the mixing of a LOGONA Hair Colour powder not to breathe in any dust from the product.
• LOGONA Herbal Hair Colours are not suitable for body painting.
• LOGONA Herbal Hair Colours are not suitable to color eyelashes or eyebrows.
• Do not try to store any leftover hair colour powder mixture. This should be discarded.
• Always perform a strand test prior to colouring hair already chemically coloured.
• The Logona Golden Blonde Hair Colour will appear brilliant red when mixed with water or tea. The hibiscus leaves that are responsible for this red colour wash out and have no impact on the final colour.
• Only use Logona Henna Black, by itself, on dark brown and darker Hair Colours with no gray. If you use it on a lighter hair shade, you can expect a very unattractive greenish or bluish colour result. Mixing two Hair Colours, you can use Logona henna black to darken Logona walnut brown, Logona chestnut brown, and Logona mahogany.
• Do not leave the Hair Colour powder shade Sahara more than 30 minutes in your hair. Otherwise, the colour result may be redder than desired.
