A gentle cleanser and moisturiser for babies and delicate skin

Weleda Calendula Baby Lotion: In the formulation of this product, the mother tincture (expressed from freshly harvested Calendula flowers) is combined with two precious oils; almond oil, which is well-liked in baby care for its gentleness, and jojoba oil with its excellent caring properties. The latter is pressed from the seeds of an evergreen desert plant and its unique chemical structure makes it into a much desired basic substance for use on toiletries: a delicate film, which is hardly noticeable, protects the skin from the environment's drying effects, leaving the skin soft and supple. This product has been formulated without Lanolin therefore it is ideally suited for the care of delicate Lanolin-allergic skin. Suitable for Vegetarians.

The combination of these high quality ingredients produces a lotion, on the one hand, ideal for use as an overall body care product for children of all ages. On the other hand, the soothing properties of Calendula are particularly important in caring for babies skin. Used after bathing, it moisturises the skin thus helping to alleviate tendencies to dry skin and flaking. In addition Calendula Baby Lotion is also an ideal skin cleaning product, particularly in the nappy area, where it helps to remove grime.

The smoothing properties of the finest quality sesame oil assists in the protection of the baby's skin. The whole composition of this product helps to stimulate natural functions of the skin and help to protect it from any drying effect. Suitable for Vegans.

It is ideal for the daily care of the delicate skin of babies and children and has a soothing, warming effect on the skin. The oil is particularly suitable for cleansing the nappy area and as an all over body moisturiser after bathing. An excellent medium for baby massage.

The ingredients have been carefully selected from a limited range of high quality natural substances which make the product extremely mild and easily tolerated by the skin. Extracts from organically grown Calendula and Chamomile flowers soothe the skin. It is fragrance free and is therefore ideally suited to the care of sensitive skin.

Free from synthetic fragrances, colours, preservatives and mineral oil based materials.

The in-pack leaflet states this product will only keep for a limited period once opened. Used regularly and stored correctly Calendula, like all Weleda products, will keep at least to the expiry date. A bottle only a quarter full, and therefore containing a lot of air, may deteriorate it left unused for a length of time. This is shown by a rancid smell emerging from the bottle. A tip to help extend the life of any oil based product is to wipe the outside of the top of the bottle after use.

Weleda Calendula Nappy Change Cream

A deep-nourishing and protective barrier cream to help prevent redness and reduce soreness.

A baby’s skin is delicate, and this is particularly true around the nappy area. Nappies get wet and it is therefore not surprising that the skin around the nappy area may get sore. However it is not only wet nappies that may be the cause of this, as during the first two years of a baby’s life its intestinal organism may be disturbed - this can be due to colds, teething etc. - but this will also have an effect around the nappy area. A baby’s bottom can therefore become a truly “sore point”.

Although cleansing a baby’s bottom is something so simple and an every-day occurrence, it needs to be carried out with great care. Regular nappy changing and gentle cleansing with Calendula Oil, or if necessary with luke-warm water and Calendula Soap and finally ending up with applying Calendula Nappy Change Cream, helps towards keeping a baby’s bottom clean and smooth.

As in all Weleda products, great care was taken in the selection of the ingredients of this product, which contribute to the unique quality of Weleda Baby Calendula Nappy Change Cream. Lanolin is of animal origin, obtained from the wool of a sheep through careful washing of the fleeces. Because the sebaceous content of lanolin is virtually the same in the human skin, it is extremely skin-friendly and has the highest water absorbing properties amongst all the natural fats, without influencing the skin’s natural breathing. Beeswax has the same protective properties as lanolin. The skin protective properties of Weleda Baby Calendula Nappy Change Cream are rounded off with Zinc Oxide, which also has water-absorbing properties.
