Shaving is a process whereby the facial hair has grown on the upper layer of the skin (the epidermis) is removed. It does not matter whether a cut-throat razor, razor blades or an electric shaver is used, one thing is clear: shaving irritates the skin, similar to a light abrasion. Therefore the quality of the shave and how the skin feels afterwards depends largely on the quality of product used.
A gentle alternative to the predominantly toning After Shave Lotion. Its mild composition cares for and soothes sensitive skin after a dry or wet shave. Natural oils and waxes help to sustain the skin’s natural oils.
The golden-coloured oil which is pressed from the seeds of the jojoba plant, cares for and smoothes the skin; it helps to protect the skin from drying effects, leaving it pleasantly soft and supple. Jojoba is an evergreen desert plant that knows how to use water in a special way. Its roots go up to 10 metres down into the earth and in this way it makes sure that it always gets sufficient moisture to survive. It can therefore grow in areas where other plants could not possibly survive.
A further ingredient of significance is the gel obtained from Aloe Vera, which stores its moisture in a form of a watery, gel-like mass in its lance shaped leaves. It is thanks to this storage system that the plant has such vitality and can survive long periods of dryness. The gel which Weleda in Brazil produces from the Aloe Vera plant helps support the natural moisture regulation of the skin; it also has a pleasant cooling effect, alleviating any skin irritation.
Plant extracts from Chamomile and Myrrh with their soothing and astringent properties help to prevent skin irritation and tendencies to inflammation. Together with other high-quality natural ingredients, which support the caring character of this preparation, the Weleda After Shave Balm is easily applied to the skin and is quickly absorbed. Great care has been taken that the mixture of essential oils obtained from Citrus fruits complement each other and also give the product its naturally refreshing fragrance.
