Here are some examples:

* in light blonde hair you can add red highlights to produce radiant, coral accents.
* in medium to dark blonde hair red highlights produce ruby red accents.
* in light brown hair red highlights produce darker mahogany accents.

* in hair coloured with LOGONA Mahogany or Walnut Red Brown colour, you can add interesting colour contrast and black-brown colour highlights by colouring sections with Henna Black.

To colour a specific part of your hair to produce this kind of effect, separate the section(s) from the rest of your hair, distribute the hair colour evenly throughout, and wrap carefully in aluminium foil.  Use the same processing time as for a complete coloration.  At the end of processing, wash out carefully - using the LOGONA Colour Conditioner for best results to seal the colour.

No PPD is used in the Logona Herbal Hair Colours or Creams. PPD is commercially used to darken Henna, Logona have perfected a process whereby Indigo is substituted for PPD. It is not only the Henna that affects a colour change in the hair, a wide range of vegetable dyes are used to achieve a broad spectrum of rich and vibrant colour. There is no peroxide, ammonia or bleach present in the Herbal Hair colours or Creams, as a result hair can only be darkened, not lightened. THERE ARE NO CHEMICALS PRESENT IN THESE COLOURS, ONLY BOTANICAL INGREDIENTS. PARFUM REFERS TO NATURAL ESSENTIAL OILS.  Repeated chemical colour treatments can make the hair fragile and lifeless.

The difference between chemical colours and Logona: aside from the obvious benefits of not exposing your hair, scalp and skin to the poisons present in commercial hair dyes, Logona's Colours work differently.  They paint themselves onto the hair (the outer scaly layer) attaching themselves to the outside of the hair shaft.  Commercial dyes actually penetrate your hair, leaving it feeling dry & brittle, hence their ability to offer 'Permanent Colour'.  Logona's product will last between 5 and 7 weeks on your hair, depending on how frequently you wash your hair and/or how aggressive the shampoo is.  As the product literally layers itself on the hair, a very natural look is created and small sections of the hair remain untreated, allowing colour variation and natural pigments of your original hair colouring to shine through, creating a very natural 'uncoloured look'.

Yes the colours do cover grey, and with persistent applications even someone with up to 80% grey in their hair can achieve very satisfactory coverage.  Grey is notoriously difficult to colour and for those with 30% or more grey in their hair, a second and third application may be necessary to cover the grey completely.  As the product is natural, applications can follow on a daily basis without risk of damage to the hair (not forgetting NO CHEMICALS too!).  The Brown Umber, Natural Brown, Teak and Nougat Brown are particularly recommended for grey, even if this is not the required colour.  As the shades have very little henna, they are unlikely to discolour the hair.  These colours can then be followed with the colour of your choice.

Choosing between the Creams & Powders... picking the powder: Logona Herbal Hair Colour Powders offer complete flexibility.  There are 10 shades to choose from that cover most hair types effectively.  Although they require mixing, this allows various colours to be combined to achieve the exact nuance you require, should you not be able to match your hair against one of the 10 boxed shades.  You can mix the powders in any combination, for instance the Natural Brown, Chestnut and Flame Red.  With 10 shades to choose from the combinations are endless!  In addition, powders can be mixed with coffee or black tea to darken the final colour.  The only drawback to the colours that once mixed the mixture must be used immediately and cannot be stored.  It is not however necessary to mix the entire box as amounts can be portioned off and the mixing ratio with water adjusted accordingly.  The powders are also recommended above the creams for individuals with very sensitive skins as they do not contain essential oils.

Made with 100% Natural Ingredients LOGONA Natural Hair Colour Creams contain only natural plant colorants, such as certified organically grown henna, walnut shells, rhubarb, and chamomile which colour your hair gently and produce natural looking colour results. Reasons for choosing the Logona Hair Colour Creams: simplicity, in a word.  They can be opened ready for use, no mixing required.  They can be closed after touching up roots and used again later.  Although there are only 5 shades of natural hair colours available, the products ease of use makes it very desirable.  Please note: the creams cannot be mixed with other ingredients and should be used as supplied.  As the natural hair colour creams are mixed by machine, the colours tend to be slightly stronger than the powders and do cover grey effectively.  We recommend the brown shades for those with a lot of grey (in excess of 50%).

How to Colour: LOGONA Natural & Organic Herbal Hair Colours are applied strand for strand using a paintbrush.  First, apply the colour to the roots and then spread it along the length of each strand.  Leave the Herbal Hair Colours for between 15 minutes and 2 hours, depending on the desired colour intensity.  The hair is then rinsed with plenty of warm water.

Although they can enliven natural, uncoloured hair with a subtle nuance, they cannot replace the Herbal Hair Colours.
